Player versus Player

* Faction titles will be coming back with the rated battleground system. You can gain them by winning the "Rated Battleground of the week" For example, if the rated battleground of the week is arathi basin, winning arathi basin will enhance your BG rating and get you closer to the next level of title.
* Tol Barad will be the new "Lake Wintergrasp" type zone in Cataclysm. It will be a daily quest hub when the battles aren't going on, and the winners of the battle will be able to kill several different similarly flavored bosses. It's located south of the current location of Southshore.
* All of the "OLD" Honor titles are returning like Grand Marshal.
o People that already have the old honor titles get to keep them. There will also be new titles implemented, as well as other fun prizes. You also get arena points for winning Rated BGs (with a weekly cap to how many you can receive).

Guild Advancement System

* Everything you do attributes to your guild's level of advancement, from doing daily quests to gaining levels and reputation ranks, as well as boss kills, amounts of grand masters of any profession, overall BG rating and Arena ratings.
* You can earn guild experience from pick up groups if at least 75% of your group is from the same guild.
* Guilds will have a 20 point talent tree, and the talents affect the entire guild. For example, a guild talent that is specable is "Cash Flow" which increases the gold drop rate from all boss monsters slain, and "Everybody's Friend" which makes it so nobody has to use Reagents to buff. Other examples are "Mass Ressurection" and "Mass Summon"
* Guilds earn guild currency and can spend it on different items. It works similarly to the badge system that is currently in place, except the items you can buy are tabards, banners, guild heirloom items (which are bound to the guild bank), and Guild Heirloom profession recipes.
o Any character that is possessing a guild recipe or guild item that leaves a guild will have the item transfered to the guild bank as soon as they /gquit.
* Every major city will have a guild vendor that members can purchase items from.
* New types of reagents can be bought from the guild vendors, the example that was used is that guilds can buy frost lotus type items that replace the herbable lotus when making flasks.

Guilds

* There is a new Looking for Guild UI that is being implemented. You can enter into it in a similar fashion as the Looking for Group system, and guild recruiters can look through the list of people that are looking for a guild and sort them through their availability and class roles.
* There are new guild based achievements in the Achievement UI. Examples given are "...clearing a certain wing of an instance" and "...completing a legendary"
* Another guild achievement is "have members who are grand masters in every profession"
* There is a new Guild News Feed UI, which was compared to an RSS feed, which reports 3 days worth of news. Examples of news feeds given is who is given what loot, who gets certain types of achievements, and first time boss kills, etc.
* There is a new guild member profession UI which allows you see every guild member's list's of recipes
* Guilds can now invite other guilds to events using the calendar UI

Mastery System

* There is a new Mastery system that is being implemented, the goal of which is that it makes the talent trees less complicated.
o Ghostcrawler: "We want people to take fun and utility talents instead of straight +Damage talents."
* For specing so many points into a tree, you get a reward of the all of the old passive stat bonuses. The example used is that a warrior puts so many points in fury to get 5% extra crit. This is to be implemented across all talent trees for all characters.
* The goal of mastery points on gear is to balance crit and haste with mastery which "...is supposed to make you do what you are intended to do better." Also, gear bonuses will affect talent bonuses.

Paths of the Titans and Archaeology

* Characters at max level will now progress down the path of the titans using the secondary profession Archaelogy.
* The rewards from archeology is a new type of glyph, called "Ancient Glyphs." Currently examples of Ancient Glyphs are "15% less stun duration." These glyphs aren't associated with inscription at all. Once you reach max level and start progressing down the paths of the titans, you are awarded points and can spend them to buy the glyphs. The glyphs themselves are tied to your current spec and can be respeced.
* NPCs associated with paths of the titans are members of the "Titan Cults" which have sprung up all over azeroth.
* When cataclysm is shipped, there will only be 4 or 5 ancient glyph slots available, and more will be unlocked in content patches.
o Ghostcrawler: The goal of the Paths of the Titans is gating content. We want everyone to eventually get every ancient glyph slot filled.
* There is a maximum amount of progress down the paths of the titans per week.

Path of the Titans

Path of the Titans
Path of the Titans is another great new feature we covered that encompasses rewarding progression at max level. This new feature implements a third new type of glyph called “Ancient Glyph,” and as you can see, it is themed after the titans. These special glyphs are not associated with the Inscription tradeskill, and are also not specific to any class.

You’re able to unlock a path and progress within that path as you continuously engage in different aspects of the game. As you advance, you will be able to unlock special glyph sockets for your character. You can also respec your path at any time, in case you decide to change your path.

You earn these ancient glyphs by using the new Archaeology secondary profession to recover and trade in titan artifacts. Each path will have 2-3 choices per rank, and again, you can respec if you decide to go down another path.

* Path of Aman’Thul, the High Father
* Path of Eonar, the Lifebinder
* Path of Norgannon, the Dreamweaver
* Path of Khaz’Goroth, the Shaper
* Path of Aggramar, the Avenger
* Path of Golganneth, the Thunderer
